All the major seas and oceans in the world contain micro- and nanoplastics. The amount is uncertain and the density in rural areas is unknown. To solve this challenge AI VISIONS and Tordivel AS are developing a module based platform to count, identify types, shapes and sizes using computer vision and deep learning. The goal is to get a much better understanding of the volume and spread of plastics in the oceans. This tool will make it possible to measure the levels in real time as a vessel with the tool passes through the water.

The need for better and more accurate tools in the fight against plastic pollution is necessary to get the whole picture of this human made problem. This new platform utilize the power of AI and deep learning to address many of the challenges with methods used today.
